MINISTRY OF ECONOMICS OF NORTH MACEDONIA ATTACHES GREAT IMPORTANCE TO THE NEW IPROTEX LOCATION

The state support agreement between iprotex and the government of North Macedonia was signed last week. The Deputy Minister of Economic Affairs of the Republic of North Macedonia, Fatmir Bytyqi, sees iprotex’s investment as the beginning of a process and is hoping for more companies to choose a location in North Macedonia: “This investment is of particular importance and it´s a spark for the development of our country. ”

The iprotex group had been considering to install a new location in South-Eastern Europe since 2018 in order to move closer to international markets and to pursue its own globalization policy. CEO Timo Piwonski is impressed by the existing infrastructure in the country: “The discussions with the local authorities were frank and fair from day one. iprotex North Macedonia is already our 7th production location in the still young history of the company. We can expand our capacities close to our customers and business partners, use synergies with existing specialist staff in the textile sector and also develop further within the iprotex group.” The branch itself is located in the TIDZ 1 free trade zone near Skopje.

The production of technical textiles on site is closely coordinated with regional customer needs in order to establish appropriate logistic structures.
